Excellent analytical skills are core to any Engineering course and Mathematics is an important subject for this. It is taught to the students of all the branches for two years. The aim of this department is to make mathematics easy and explain it to the student in an interesting way. For better understanding of the subject we have tutorial classes which allow interaction with the student unlike in lecture which is monologue. The students are divided into small batches so that it is easier to solve their problems and pay attention to their individual needs. Shortly, we will be introducing video cassettes and CD’s on certain relevant topics and will make it available in the library. We have been inviting eminent professors of mathematics to deliver guest lectures. We have also made available Tutorial books to students. Faculty development programs are also organized for new faculties to improve their teaching skills. The faculties go to attend Seminars and conferences to keep abreast about the recent trends in the field of Mathematics. In the year 2007 we held Mathematics conference in the institute. All these efforts have kept aptitude of our students better than others.
